From the recording I Love My Computer
Hollowlove kicks off 2019 with a new single off their forthcoming album. "I Love My Computer" is about a new kind of addiction, a new expression of obsession. A throbbing 98bpm four-on-the-floor groove backs up Ryan, as he exercises the full range of his vocals, from high falsetto to bass, even some spoken parts. Comparisons are hard on this track, but you'll hear the influence of The Knife, Jamiroquai's "Automaton" album, and even Vangelis in the climax. As with every Hollowlove track, all parts are original, hardware analog synths or acoustic recordings. No samples!
Lyrics
I love my computer
Toc Tic
Let's end at the beginning
(maybe just one more)
Trippin' all over yourself just to get in line
Lock step
The end is just beginning
(maybe just one more)
Punchin' the clock just to buy more time
I don't know how to just be anymore
I don't know that I ever did
And I don't know how to relate anymore
And I must confess
I love my computer
Just a little too much
Feelin' like I did that day
Never want to feel that way again
'Cause it hurts my eyes
When the sun is shining
Through my window blinds
Somehow it makes things worse
When the sun is shining
And I'm still dark inside
I'm still dark inside
Toc Tic
Just end before beginning
(maybe just one more)
How low can you go for the bottom line?
Lockstep
No end to what we're willing
(maybe just one more)
'Cause there ain't no method in this madness
And I don't know how to just be anymore
I don't know that I ever did
And I don't know how to relate anymore
And I must confess
I love my computer
Just a little too much
Feelin' like I did that day
Never want to feel that way again
'Cause it hurts my eyes
When the sun is shining
Through my window blinds
Somehow it makes things worse
When the sun is shining
And I'm still dark inside
I'm still dark inside
